History

Trascar from 1981 to today

Trascar was founded in 1981 in Castel d’Azzano by engineers with twenty years of experience in converting industrial vehicles. In 1997 it moved to Povegliano Veronese, onto a seven thousand square metre site.

In 2019 a generational handover also brought a change of name; in 2024, under new management, the company went back to the name Tras-Car and joined the Carnovali-CBS Group. Joining the group covers the stage upstream of bodybuilding: setting the wheelbase, the axles and the loading height of the chassis.

The engineering office studies each case individually, within the manufacturers’ specifications; chassis modifications are carried out by qualified welders, kept up to date through regular training.

Operations

The eight operations carried out on the chassis

When the standard vehicle does not have the configuration required, the chassis is cut and rebuilt: lengthening or shortening of the wheelbase, addition of axles, repositioning of components. Laser alignment, testing and painting follow.

Certifications and compliance

The quality system certification

The quality management system is certified by an accredited third-party body and covers the conversion of the chassis of industrial and commercial vehicles. Type approvals for the individual conversions are issued by the Motor Vehicle Department at the time of testing.

Documents

ISO 9001:2015Quality management system+

The scope is the conversion of the chassis structure of industrial and commercial vehicles. The certificate is subject to an annual surveillance audit: current validity is confirmed until 3 April 2027.
