The GroupSeven brands, one supply chain

From a family fabrication shop to an industrial group

Carnovali was founded in Prevalle in 1977. Almost fifty years on, the group brings together seven brands covering the entire supply chain of equipment for waste collection, compaction and transport.

Growth

The steps that shaped the group

Each acquisition and each new company has brought into the group an operation that was previously outsourced.

    Foundation

    Carnovali is founded, in Prevalle

A family-run craft business in a sector that was then in its early days: environmental equipment. It is the company the group grew from.

    CBS is founded

CBS was set up to cover the stage the group was missing: mounting the equipment on the vehicle.

    Acquisition

    Piacenza Rimorchi joins

The trailer and semi-trailer brand founded in Cremona in 1920 joins the group together with its own body of technical drawings.

    Acquisition

    Danese joins

The family business from the Veneto region, founded in Belfiore in 2000, specialising in truck bodies and lifting equipment.

    Acquisition

    Trascar joins

A specialist in chassis conversion: lengthening, shortening, lowering, third axle. Founded in 1981, it is based in Povegliano Veronese on seven thousand square metres.

    Acquisition

    Officine Minelli joins

The acquisition of 100% of Officine Minelli, founded in 1956 in Cazzago San Martino, brings hydraulic material handlers into the group: the machine that moves material before it is compacted. With this acquisition the group passes one hundred million in revenue.

    New company

    monitrag is founded

A company dedicated to remote monitoring of the group’s equipment: location, fill level, alarms and operating data, all available from a browser with no software to install.

The supply chain

Six stages, a single contact

Design, manufacturing, chassis conversion, body mounting and testing all belong to the same group: responsibility for the result stays in one place.

01

Design

The engineering office sizes the equipment on the material, the collection cycle and the vehicle.

02

Chassis preparation

Lengthening, shortening, additional axles and laser alignment, with testing and documentation.

03

Manufacturing

Cutting, welding, fabrication and painting with water-based enamels, in the group plants.

04

Body mounting

Mounting on the vehicle, cranes and lifting equipment, trailers.

05

Testing

ADR and EU testing, INAIL paperwork, sworn technical reports, declarations of conformity.

06

Service

On call 24 hours a day, ten mobile workshops across the territory, original spare parts.

How we work

Manufacturing stays inside the group’s own plants

Since 1977 cutting, welding, steel fabrication and painting have been carried out in the group’s own plants. They are stages of the production process, not work placed with subcontractors.

—Steel grades chosen case by caseGrade and thickness are selected according to use: the abrasion caused by aggregates and scrap is different from that of paper and packaging.
—Shot blasting before paintingEvery structure is shot blasted before the paint cycle: the paint bonds deeply and the steel resists corrosion for longer.
—Sizing made to measureThe engineering office designs around the actual duty cycle: volumes, payload and discharge method, together with the customer’s requirements on openings, bodies, colours and company livery.
—Widespread service networkService continues after delivery: mobile workshops across the territory and original spare parts, with technicians who reach the vehicle where it is working.

ESG

Environment, people and governance

The group’s equipment puts materials back into circulation. Added to that are the way it is built and the conditions of the people who build it.

Environment

The group builds the machines that put paper, plastic, wood and metals back into circulation.

People

Over four hundred people. Technical skills are built on the shop floor, through on-the-job training.

Governance

Seven brands and a single supply chain: the procedures are the same in every plant of the group.

Quality and certifications

Quality is verified by independent bodies

Each company in the group maintains its own management systems, audited periodically by independent bodies. The procedures that follow determine how long the equipment lasts and the documentation that comes with it.

Quality

Written procedures, checks at every stage and a final test before the machine leaves the plant.

Safety

Guards, training and periodic checks, in the group’s departments and on the equipment the customer will use.

Environment

Less process waste, fewer repaints and a longer service life: environmental impact is reduced first of all in the way things are built.

Compliance

Markings, testing and complete documentation: without it, equipment cannot enter a site.

Talk it through with the engineering office

The material to be handled, how often the service runs and the vehicle available are the three pieces of information the engineering office starts from to put together a proposal.
